Dr. Ana Maria Gonzalez-Angulo - Senior Medical Oncologist
Currently treating patients and pursuing research at the Unidad de Cancerologia in Guadalajara, Dr. Ana Maria Gonzalez-Angulo is a senior medical oncologist. She addresses aggressive breast cancers, particularly those in younger patients. She also provides knowledgeable care for patients on dialysis and those who are pregnant. Dr. Ana Maria Gonzalez-Angulo’s range of experience extends to treating those with multiple cancers, as well as comorbidities involving hepatitis and HIV.
Dr. Gonzalez-Angulo previously held a tenured position with the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she oversaw groundbreaking interdisciplinary research in collaboration with physician-scientists. Her responsibilities included a role as chief of the Department of Breast Medical Oncology, Clinical Research and Drug Development Section. She successfully integrated early-phase clinical trials on aggressive HER2-positive and triple-negative breast cancers with foundational translational research.
Dr. Gonzalez-Angulo was a pioneer in employing next-generation sequencing (NGS) and high-throughput technologies for predictive and prognostic biomarker identification. An avid reader of historical fiction in her free time, she also enjoys taking in classical music performances and art exhibits.
